TIME FOR A CLOSE UP!

Picture Day Saturday, September 26

This Saturday is Picture Day at the Leis Center! As you know, kids won’t have many sports mementos this year, so we are excited to offer team and individual photos to our players and their families.

Your Manager will let you know when to report for photos.

Here are a few important details:

  • Masks will not be worn in photos but all players and family members are asked to wear a mask to and from the field. When you arrive, staffers from Olson Photography will direct you to line up, 6’ apart.

  • Players should wear their full uniform, including hat. And – this is a change from other years – bring your own bat to hold in the picture! (As always, safety first – don’t let players swing those bats if other people are around!)

  • Each player will be photographed individually – no team shots. Then, team composites will be generated of all participating players. Everyone can be photographed, whether they place an order or not.

  • For those placing an order: Families must fill out the order form (see email from Kirsten or your Manager), then include payment (check or credit card – no cash), and bring it with you Saturday. We will not have blank order forms and pens –please complete the order form before you arrive!

  • Can’t make it Saturday but still want to order pictures? That is not a problem at all, due to the “composite” nature of this year’s team shot. Ask your Manager for details.

  • You may leave the field once your player’s photo has been taken. Please maintain a distance of 6’ from other players and families.

Have a great week, enjoy some fall baseball, and keep up our commitment to COVID protocols. We will see you Saturday.

FRIDAY MESSAGE

Friday FCKLL News: Safety, Photos, $$, & End-of-Season Schedule

We hope everyone had a great week and we look forward to brighter skies and more games tomorrow.

A few reminders and updates in the meantime:

COVID Protocols:

  • Remember, you MUST fill out a pre-event screening, online, prior to EVERY practice and game. Your COVID Coaches are checking these submissions, and if your player isn’t cleared, he/she cannot step on the field. The pre-screening keeps all of us safe and playing ball.
  • We have worked extremely hard to get back to playing baseball – please help us stay on the field! Players are doing a great job sticking to their assigned seats and exchanging “virtual” high fives and fist bumps – these things have started to feel very normal, which is what we want in this most abnormal season! Parents and siblings are reminded to stay 6’ away from non-family members, and are encouraged to wear masks.
  • Not feeling 100%? Please stay safe and stay home. Missing a practice or game is absolutely okay – there is plenty of baseball to be played in the future.

Picture Day has been moved from tomorrow, September 19 to next Saturday, September 26. We will send info out next week about where and when to report for a safe and socially-distant photo shoot.

Donations have been rolling in this week – thank you! Remember, $10 gets you two gaiters, and tax-deductible donations in any amount are welcome via this easy process

On a related note, we know several FCKLL families are waiting on information to pay outstanding fall invoices – we are working on the issue and promise to track you all down soon! Thanks for your patience.

Say It Ain’t So: Only two weeks left in the regular season!

  • Our regular season ends on Saturday, October 3 – tee ballers will all receive trophies, and they can hang up their cleats for the season on that date.
  • Single A and above begin their season tournaments on Monday, October 5. The tournament features a traditional seeded, single-elimination format. For those who have played FCKLL before, this is what we normally do to close out the Spring season.
  • Championship games for Single A and above are scheduled for Saturday, October 10. If we have rainouts or a multitude of absences due to the 3-day weekend, championship games may extend into the following week. We ask everyone to remain flexible.

As always, a big thanks to all our Managers and other volunteers for your efforts – and to our players and families for adhering to this season’s unique requirements!

Stay safe and have fun,

--Kirsten & all at FCKLL

WEEKLY PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE -- FROM SOMEONE NEW!

FCKLL Weekly News: Board Members, Safety, Photos, & Fundraising

Happy Friday, FCKLL Family,

We aren’t thrilled about having had more rain this week, but tomorrow’s weather looks brighter, and we are excited for a full day of baseball!

Safety Notes:

Thanks again to all who are working diligently to follow COVID protocols. Our League is doing an admirable job. As a reminder, please keep your distance! Families and siblings should carve out their own space to cheer. Please follow the instructions of your Manager and COVID coaches at all times.

Picture Day:

Unfortunately, you won’t have 100 team photos from school, soccer, lacrosse, flag football, and swim team this year. What can you have? Baseball! Individual photos will be offered by our long-time sponsor, Olson Photography. Please look for instructions next week for an optional Picture Day on 9/19. All players will be photographed individually, with social distancing protocols in place, and then team composite photos will be generated. Please take part if you wish. Your Manager will send instructions.

Two Gaiters, Ten Dollars:

We have received many compliments on our League gaiters! If you’d like a few extra for your player, parents, siblings, or friends, we have a deal for you. Simply donate $10 or more to the League, and get the gift of two gaiters. Donate at https://www.leagueathletics.com/UserForm.asp?RegID=137774&org=fckll.org, and we will email instructions on where to scoop up your new fashion statements.

We missed out on a great deal of revenue this year, including our annual fundraiser, spring registration fees, and some of our local sponsor pledges. Therefore, your gifts will be a huge help to the League. If you are in a position to donate more than $10, we’d be eternally grateful. As always, gifts are tax-deductible.

(Amazon) Smile for Baseball:

Another easy way to help? Choose us as your designated charity on Amazon Smile. It’s a single click that generates funds for the League – please do so at https://smile.amazon.com/ch/52-1287971 before you go on your next Amazon shopping spree.

I don’t know how he manages to Coach approximately a dozen teams per season, serve as League president, and smile through it all. Joe, the League is very grateful for your years of service, and lucky that you are willing to hang out with us a little longer!

I am very excited to take the reins as President. For those I haven’t yet met, I look forward to seeing you at a ballfield tomorrow or sometime soon. You can read a little more about my background on www.fckll.org.

Stay safe and have fun,
