Important Info For: Players age 8 and up, and 7 year olds who registered for Double A Ball!!!
Who must attend Assessments?
All players League Age 8 and older (born before 9/1/12), regardless of what level you registered for, as well as any players younger than League Age 8 who are registered for AA or above.
Players who are League Age 12 who did not play Majors in Spring 2019 must attend.
Players who played Majors in Spring 2019 do not need to attend.
What happens at Assessments?
This is a mandatory evaluation, required by Little League International. Our coaches will evaluate each player on several baseball skills. This event provides input for the player drafts at the AA, AAA, and Majors levels. This is not a tryout; every registered player will be assigned to a team in FCKLL regardless of their performance at the assessment. This is strictly for placement within the League structure. We know this event is busy each year, but it is very important that we get our players assigned to the correct level so that they have the best experience possible in the Spring.
When is it?

Please arrive 10 minutes early and expect a crowd. If you are unable to make your assigned time slot, please show up when available, and we will slot you in at the next available time. Moving to another time will likely mean your child is not assessing with kids of the same age/skill level. We will do our best to accommodate changes. If you cannot attend on February 1 OR February 15, please contact

What paperwork do we need to bring?
You need residency paperwork as well as a completed waiver to use the Tysons Playground facility.
1) Little League International is very specific about residency and school attendance requirements. Each player must bring three documents proving residency (i.e., property tax bill, rental agreement, utility bill, driver's license, etc.) and one document proving age (birth certificate or passport). The chart below is helpful! You can read more details about acceptable documentation, from Little League International, here:https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/residency-school-attendance-eligibility-requirements. The only players excepted from this rule are previous FCKLL All-Stars approved by LLI.
Bring a glove, water bottle and arrive in athletic clothes and sneakers (cleats will not work well on the carpeted surface). Male players should wear an athletic cup. Bats are NOT permitted. There will be many kids, and little space to store equipment. Helmets, bats, and balls will be provided by the League at the event.
What else do we need to know?
This event will be crowded, so it's best if you can drop off your child and find a place out of the way to wait for them to finish. We know you want to watch, but because of the risk of winter weather, this event must be scheduled indoors, which means we are very limited on space. We will provide as much space as the facility allows to watch.
Register Now! Great Events with the World Champion Nationals!
We are the (World Series) Champions!
One of the great benefits of playing Little League in Falls Church is our partnership with the Nationals - the 2019 World Champion Washington Nationals. All players from Tee Ball to Majors will receive two free tickets to a Nationals game this year. We will also have an event with a player and other great opportunities such as training with coaches at Nationals Park, walking in the World Series Parade (seriously!!), and more. We'll highlight some of the events here.
FCKLL Players Invited to See the World Series Trophy
Looking for something to do before Assessments on February 1?
Thanks to FCKLL’s relationship with the Nats, you can see the Nationals' World Series Trophy, live and in person!
Who: Players from the Nationals Team UP member leagues and their immediate families
What: View and take pictures with the World Series Trophy
When: Saturday, February 1st, 10am-3pm. You must be in line by 3pm to see the trophy.
Where: Nats Park, of course!
Parking: Complimentary parking will be provided in the Geico Garage (Garage B). The entrance to the Geico Garage is located on N Street SE to the right of CF Gate. If the Geico Garage becomes parked to capacity, paid street parking is available around the stadium.
Event Location: After parking, families should proceed to the Third Base Gate located on South Capitol Street. After going through security, families will be directed down to the Delta Club to queue for the trophy. Nationals staff will ensure that the line continues to move, but high attendance is expected so families should anticipate a long queue time. Because of February temperatures, we will do what we can to minimize the number of families waiting outside of the stadium.
Details: Each family will be able to take one family photo with the trophy. No one will be permitted to touch or pick up the trophy from the viewing table. Families are encouraged to bring their own cameras (or phones) as there will be no on-site photographer.
